Zhaoyue was founded by Mr. Han Lei — a postdoctoral fellow in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) orthopedics, a physical therapist for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, and a practitioner of the national intangible cultural heritage "Qing Palace Tendon-Regulating Manipulation". Its origin traces back to the Siyuan Chuoban Office (the imperial bone-setting institution) of the Qing Dynasty, which was established exclusively for the royal court.
